Local actions: collaboration with the Protemar Association
On the 18th of January our friends from the Protemar Association came to visit us at IKEA Mallorca. We are going to work together to clean and conserve one of our greatest treasures: the seabed of the Balearic Islands.
From now on, our already iconic FRAKTA bag is part of an initiative to collect rubbish on our beaches.
A collaboration within the "People and Planet" programme through which IKEA works with organisations that address social and environmental challenges around the world.
In this collaboration, together with Protemar, the protagonists have been the soft toys of the BLÅVINGAD series, a collection inspired by the sea and made from recycled plastic that should never end up at the bottom of the ocean.
